TentLife started out as a adventure to simplify my life, save money and stretch my imagination. During my time in a tent in Metro Oklahoma City, I encountered ants, spiders, large animals, and inclement weather… not to mention the sting of solitude and the deafening roar of silence.

Luckily, I had the advice and words of encouragement from those who have gone before me and put aside the luxury of the world to live simply in the woods. On this site you will find six contributoring authors (from R to L): Don Hogan, Nathan Hoag, Sam Duregger (me), Mark Montgomery, Jarod Sickler, and Skot Montgomery.

Four of whom are now out of their tents and resuming life within walls, whereas Mark is just beginning his TentLife adventure. I will be transitioning out of active “TentLife” duty and take a position of editor on this site as well as contributing some thoughts on my TentLife experience as well as some posts within the simple, cheap and different theme(s).
